For someone looking from a far at the situation its hard to believe MG being a cowboy alum would take the job considering everything we know at face value, but like a lot of things in life not everything is always as it seems.

For Gundy he would be looking at a considerable raise in pay. Currently his newest contract is 15.7 mil over 7 years which is only 2.2 mil a year. AR can quite easily raise that bar w/ plenty of room for him to bring in quality assistants.

#2 SEC ... Showmanship: TV contracts worth $ 205 mil = big stage all year round. Plus Bigger and Better Bowl game opportunities. Last year the SEC earned roughly around $76 mill in bowl pay outs which was 46% more than what the Big12 recieved with the same # of teams in bowl games as the SEC.

#3 Closest proximity to home.

#4 No sharing of fan base. You get an entire state of support.

Coaches want to be paid what they believe they are worth especially when they have succeeded at high level on consistent basis. When they're not then it gets personal especially if you are an alum there.
