Phil Fulmer

  • is getting so much love and people reporting he will be the next HC on the other board. It makes me want to vomit and I'm gonna stay away from that board until the search is over. If Long thinks he upset some folks(and he upset plenty) by firing BP, just watch what happens if Fulmer is hired. He will be run out of town and considered the worst AD in the history of our program. PLEASE OK/RT tell me this is 100% not happening.

  • I would lose all confidence in Long if this is done. Fulmer would be a huge mistake. It would make us a joke IMO.

    I am getting nervous with all this talk makes me remember the Grobe deal. And not to mention Bowden. I hope Long is smarter than this?

  • I think if Fulmer is brought in for administrative purposes THIS YEAR, then I have no issues. It would allow the coordinators do what they do best and let Fulmer win the press conference and give the program some continued exposure until the end of the year. But a long term solution? Heck no.

    This would ABSOLUTELY CRIPPLE our recruiting. NO THANKS! Wud be better off naming an interim from staff and hiring a new assistant. Hoping Long will name a BIG TIME hire next week which he is capable of.

    Why, did Grobe win a national championship? Do you know how many all americans Fulmer had? He is one hell of a recruiter. Who cares if he is fat.

    You realize Fulmer was known as one of the best recruiters in the entire SEC. You do realize that or are you just blabbering. I hope it isn't him either, but I promise you we could do a hell of a lot worse. Fulmer was well loved by recruits and their families. Hell, how many did he pull out of Arkansas that we wanted? He started Tennessee going national with recruiting.

    Yeah I know. But you can thank the recently terminated coach for that. I can't imagine many coaches, that our fanbase would accept, wlling to leave their program after spring practice. Jeff Long likely just doesn't have the options to go full time right now.

    by the way did Long approve Jessica's hiring?

    Long lets they situation get out of hand and then fires the best coach the Hogs will ever have and then is a hero

    by the way did Long approve Jessica's hiring? I am really asking -- I had heard that but did not know for sure

    BP was like a 4 million dollar rock star who needed refocusing and handling but was just fired by a poor manager is what some think

    It will all come home if BP is at Tenn and kicks our butt on his way to atlanta

    Not my hero. He screwed this program as far as I'm concerned.

    I didn't say he couldn't recruit. Kids aren't going to commit to a school not knowing who the coach was gonna be when they arrived on campus. A one year deal is a no- win situation IMO. Getting a current staff member to do this is a better option than an outsider, although I'm opposed to both. RT 's post has made me feel much better about Fulmer.

  • CTate...Look I didn't say anything about hm being fat don't put words in my mouth. I couldn't care less how many all americans he has had. Why haven't the 100 other schools that haven't hired him not hired him? He recruited at Tenn but where else did he recruit?

    Also how did he get the Tenn job? Who cares what you think? I don't!

  • "JUST SAY NO" to Fulmer. Every time I saw him on the Tennessee sideline I thought "they have better players than us but WE GOT A CHANCE". With the talent he had he should have won 3 or 4 national titles. Clint Stoerner is one of my all-time favorite Razorbacks, but without his stumble (and Nutt's terrible play call) Phil would not have his NC.

    Yea i agree . JMFL did what was best for the University and i dont see masses complainig about it.
