Paul Petrino for Coach! Show him the love!

  • Guys I want to keep the system, he will do that!

I want to keep the intense approach to detail, he would do that!

He is younger, and a better in house recruiter then Bobby was!

He has more ties to the South then Bobby did!

He would be able to keep this staff together, and I feel he would be able to keep the team together!

This would be a home run hire at this stage of the game!

He is as much to do with where Arkansas football is today, (on the field), as his brother is, he recruited and has the eye like like his brother did. I am telling you this is the way to go!

  • I don't disagree with anything you said here OP. The real problem is he doesn't have any experience as a head coach. That's the risk and the challenge. It is such a big jump from being an assistant or even coordinator to head coach. Some coaches are never able to do it. But I think it would not be a bad plan to give him interm HC and see what he can do. If Hogs have the year that is expected next year then sign him.

  • i agree. keep the current staff intact for the season. promote to HC from within. realize the potential that this team has. then make a decision on 2013 and beyond after this year.

  • Thoughts on keeping the current staff.

I'm in favor of this thought at least for the next season and letting them gel as a staff. If productive, make it permanent. If not the right chemistry, you will have several more options by then end of the season.

During BP's reign wasn't the offense the most cohesive when Paul was coordinating? Also, the defense was least productive under our former defensive coordinator.

IMO, I believe that Arkansas has one of the best offensive AND defensive mindsets together right now than anytime during the BP era and possibly one of the tops in Razorback History. I would say give them a chance. If you bring in a new coach now you will definitely disrupt the team progress that has been in place for that last couple of years and probably will feel the effects of that change on the field.

I say PP or McGhee! The smoothest transition for the current team as well as recruiting.

  • PP is better then McGhee!

PP was with Bobby at Lousville when he started there as a NEW HEAD COACH with no HEAD COACH experience.

This is the young Coach we need!

PP is the best choice unless we go home run.
