OK/RT/Board- PP or Paul Haynes next HC

  • I think I could live with either one of them as our next HC. I know neither has any HC experience, but both could prolly keep the majority if not all the current staff . What do yall think about Haynes and Petrino? Hearing names like Cristobal and Hudspeth have me a little worried. Thanks!

I think Paul P might have a shot at job, but don't see Paul Haynes as a HC here next year

I think you are on to something. I think it will depend on who else you can get. If those names you just said are the best they can do then, yeah, I could get behind PP or PH (assuming we have a good year).

Cristobal or Hudspeth are no improvement over what we already have so why hire them and take a chance on screwing up, just stick with the sure thing where you already know what you got.

Agree! A lot will depend on the success we have this season and who we can get.

Thanks OK! I know PP is a he!! of a coach, but Haynes really impressed me the way he handled himself on the CFB Confidential show. He kind of reminded me some of Garrick

  • And did you notice on the CBS show Jeff Long mentioning how impressed he has been with how Paul has handled everything during the last few months. Paul was in a tough position but he continued to excell at his job and even stepped up while still remaining loyal to his brother and eventhough he is loyal and supportive to Bobby he made it clear that his brother really screwed up and hurt a whole lot of people. Paul has shown a high level of character and integrity. I thought from day one of Bobbys firing I could be happy with Paul as head coach had that opinion has only strengthened over the summer.

Yeah, I immediately thought that was a good sign for PP when Long said that. But then again who would know, Long I guess :)

  • I think it's a little quick to Promote Haynes as HC over a top 10 program. This is his first year as a coordinator so give it time.

I agree, I just don't see that happening.

Same goes with Paul, but I would take either. Paul Haynes is better than most would think, him and Taver just didn't want to leave Columbus(prior to Bobby).

  • I understand the logic of not believing in Haynes, but watching them and listening to them then I would prefer Haynes over Petrino. Timing is everything and if the defense makes the big jump anticipated then he will be a hot coordinator. Is he in the ballpark with Kirby Smart? not yet or by SEC standards, but give the man his due and credit because he has an impressive background and seems capable of handling the job if needed.
