If it is Franklin you need to give him an opportunity to succeed. He will be a great hire. He will take us to recruiting heights we've never seen. So as a fan why don't you support who ever the hire is instead of complaining who you think it should be!

We are doing exactly as many of us thought. Long speaks big so BOT'S give him big raise, then he starts offering the coaching job to great coaches ,but offers less $$$. Remember, he got this raise and he thinks he can hire great coaches but he will strike out left & right until he gets someone cheap, lets say Dykes or Butch Jones. He is all about feathers in his cap. He cares more about his presentation to the public than doing his job. Powers that be better press Long or we HOG fans will enjoy more of the same ala 2012. What a year to bring in bankrupt John L, Long didnt even check that deal out, after not checking out Bpetrino's last hire. For you that trust Long, prove me wrong. Bring in Gus , I personally hate the idea, but its better than we probably get.

I am able to speak what I think will happen and almost happened last time as well as you can speak your flowerdy hopeful words. I hope Long proves me wrong. lol if you need to. Lets watch & see what happens. Then I will admit being wrong or you can.

I have so little faith in that d-bag Jeff Long, that I would be thrilled to hear that Franklin will be the next coach of the Razorbacks.

I really don't understand how some of you would be devastated over this hire. He's my #2 behind Gundy.

ADs are responsible for much more than just hiring football coaches. Tell me your opinion of the departments finances, the academic performance of the student athletes, the success of the other 19 programs, the current reputation of the University (no not the football program, non of us are pleased with that right now) etc etc.

I hope I am proved wrong, but I can tell you that I dont believe AD Long is a good judge of coaching talent. Just look at the last coaching search when he got lucky. I dont know what you do for a living and I wouldnt be as classless as you are about my profession if I knew. Be careful what you say. I had opportunities to play pro sports and coach in the college level in a different sport. I have coached on other levels. GO HOGS. Most of what I say is to encourage the powers that be to keep Long in line. He has proved at times to be incapable. This time he's had 8 months to do the job. Hope he does! By the way, the finances at the UofA sports dept. is in great shape mostly to do with BPetrino's recent success. I could go on further...

I'm going to have to stop calling my wife a drama queen. You guys are 100x's worse than any woman I know.
