It's been a minute

  • I haven't posted in months. I just wanna put my 2 cents in on some of the recent events.

    1 JLS grows on me everyday. His blood type is red bull! He was without a doubt the best hire we could have made under the circumstances. Espn seems to love the guy! He's getting good publicity! We're getting good recruits with him at the helm. The players love him and will go to war for him. He's never walked into a team, he hasn't had to rebuild. Michigan State isn't an easy job. Ask Nick Saban, his record was 34-24. None of us would argue about Saban's coaching abilities. i'll be upset if we replace him with anybody other than a 5 start coach. Carrol, Patterson, Gruden, Peterson, etc... No mid level up and comer coach!!! I believe he can recruit to Arkansas! We just pulled in Hunter Henry! I have a very close friend who is on the PA staff and he was telling me Henry was heading out of state, and somehow we landed him. We still have good recruits visiting with the man only having a 10 month contract.

    2 I love the assistant coaches we have in place. I think our new guys on D are difference makers on the field, and out recruiting! I know we have a chance to field one of the top 5 defenses in the SEC! We are gonna hit people in the mouth! We're gonna scare people! I'll call it now. Our D will only give up 14 pts a game. Top defensive recruits in the nation will take notice. I think having a young black coordinator with his background will benefit more than we'll ever realize! I'll hate to see Haynes go when he does, but I think he can turn our D into on that is mentioned with the Bama's and LSU's of college football

    3 The offense speaks for itself! No Paul isn't Bobby! Paul does know everything Bobby knows though. Are players have Bobby instilled in them! Our wrs will be fine with or without Wade. Our freshman will contribute at wr and do fine. Hamilton and Gragg will be double teamed at times freeing them up. Not to mention we'll have a hell of a running game that other teams will have to respect. Tyler is going to put up numbers that are going to blow our minds this year. Don't think Paul isn't going to game plan with Bobby during the season. Bobby still loves this team and nobody can take that from him!

    4 I'll really miss Bobby. Did he get what he deserved? Sure. Do I still wish he was the coach? Yes. I would have embraced being the bad boys of the SEC and the most hated! I took a lot of heat here in Dallas for being a Arkansas fan, and I loved every minute of it!!! When people hate your football team you know your doing something right! I shut Aggies up left and right! Bobby will be missed by me if no one else.

    5 Penn State got what they deserved. There school deserves to be punished! Sandusky and the people that helped cover it up deserve to rot in HELL! Nothing else needs to be said!

    6 The football season can't get here soon enough! WOO DAMN PIG SOOIE!!!!!

  • Nice post and I wear rose colored glasses too but for you to say we're only going to give up 14 points a game is just pure hogwash.

    Heck if we give up 21 points a game this year we'll win the whole thing.

    I don't have a good feeling about this year.
    Wish I did but I just don't.

    I do not post that much

    1. I agree about John L. Smith. Looking outside of Mich State, he is a winner. Look at Idaho and Louisville. Thanks for looking up Saban's record at MSU. It was about what I thought. Not easy to win there consistently. No need to jump the gun with some of these "up and comers". Just look at how that has worked in basketball until they finally made a good decision.

    2. As far as the D just watch the Cotton Bowl from last year. That was a totally different unit IMO. I think we will surprise folks there.

    3. Offense will roll as long as we can run the ball reasonbly well. Personally I DO NOT think BP will have any gameplanning with his bro, other than some casual converation. He has too much on his plate, and deserves every nauseating problem he brought on himself.

    4. Do I miss BP as a coach, yes. Do I wish he was still the coach- No, not under the circumstances of his choices.
    I hate any team with puke orange colors- mainly Texas and Tennessee in that order, so I feel for you in Tx and my relatives tenn.

    5. Penn State will wish they were SMU before all is said and done.

    6. WPS. If Smith wins 10 games he should be given some sort of contract. I believe he was the best choice at the time, but the coaching situation is hurting recruiting. I would have felt better if they would have just announced him as coach (even if you are looking for a permanent coach) and not have some 10 month thing, because that is being used against us.

    Good post, guru, and keep bringing it! I think the Hogs are going to be really good on offense this year. If the defense can avoid injuries at LB and in the secondary, it should be better. I was impressed by the Cotton Bowl, too, and think there's a really good defensive staff in place. Haynes just needs a few more studs on that side of the ball, and those guys are working hard to get them.

    Good points. People look a little too much at Michigan State, which is a tough job and was a tough time for him, and do not give him enough credit for his other stops, IMO. (Cue a loud groan from LendHog. biggrin) JLS will get a chance for some vindication this year.

  • HOGS WILL GET 10 WINS THIS YEAR IF NOT MORE. JLS WILL BE GIVEN A LONGER CONTRACT AND SHOULD BE...AS LONG AS HE KEEPS THE CURRENT STAFF. TYLER AND KNILE ARE READY TO BRING IT. I DO THINK NEXT YEAR WILL BE A TOUGH ONE. WPS!!!

    Lend man C'mon does a rain cloud follow you around ? JL came back for many times more pay and the chance to hold something together that his lil stud ( BP ) built . Who the F wouldnt come in and coach this team loaded with potential for 10 months ?

    Not many people would come here for 10 months that's why we ended up with JLS.

    JLS was not and will not be the answer IMO.

    Just another of the misfortunes and bad decisions in fayetteville this year. See Bill Stewart and learn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I do think we will have a good year and will beat both Bama and LSU or split but will lose two other games and one will be directly because of JLS.

    Lastly, he should have been told you will not, will not be the HC after this year to keep him from trying to prove something to get the gig and get us beat. That is what I fear most and somewhat expect. If that happens you fellas that love Longs decision making and ole folksey JLS just remember the warning in this email. Long screwed this up IMO.

    Should have been P Petrino as interim and trial for HC. Was really a no brainer.
