I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life! You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.

A lot love him but it seems they love him as a person more than a coach. His dad has been involved in the program for a long time so the Horton name has been involved. He coached some very good RBs while at Arkansas but IMO we didnt coach ball security enough bc we fumbled a lot. The coaches in high school in Arkansas love him and he's made a lot of inroads in Memphis too. I just don't think we will miss Tim Horton the coach but some will miss Tim Horton the person.

Seriously? Blaming all the fumbles on the coach is just silly. C'mon man!

  • A very good coach and a very good person. I think sometimes that gets lost with some is he is a very good person. He knew what it was to be a Razorback because he was one. Auburn, if all this is true, is getting a very good coach and person.

    Otis Kirk

  • A decent coach. Nice guy. Not sure what he can bring to the table with Auburn. Was the OC at Air Force for a short stint I believe.

Seriously I question your football knowledge? Serious question did you play? I assure you the coaches that coach ball security their RBs don't fumble as often. Read about Joel Thomas that's his big thing ball security and they fumbled 1 time this year. Hell I'm not sure you understand that though.

  • I really like Tim Horton. He was a good player at Arkansas and a good coach! I wish him the best except against us! ghg

Does it really fire ya'll up to hire a coach whose recruiting contacts are in a state that produces 6 SEC prospects a year max and only has one BCS school that pretty much everyone follows from the time they are 2 years old ??

That would not fire me up at all. That would be like telling me we have hired a coach that played at Nebraska and had coached at Nebraska for the last 6 years and would now be recruiting Nebraska for Arkansas. How many SEC level players would Arkansas be able to get from Nebraska ???

Ask yourself the same question about Auburn and Arkansas. You may get a few guys here and there but you aren't going to make a living recruiting Arkansas if you are Auburn so I don;t really get the Horton hire. But then again, NOBODY is a smart as Jegus so we will all just have to bow at his highness and exalt his hiring of Tim Horton.

  • You guys are getting a first class human being that will make your staff's integrity level go up without a doubt. Good coach but even a better person. He will be missed by many.

How could it not go up they have no integrity at Auburn.I'm more worried about the filth that will rub off one Tim after he's been there. He will have to be hosed down and scrubbed before he can go to another program. As soon as he see how hard he has to fight off the Auburn alum from buying his players he may quit in disgusts.

You do realize Otis confirmed earlier that Tim was offered the job.

    Otis/RT (Tim Horton update)

Do you think Coach Bielema will have the staff completed by the end of the day today? Or at the very least we will know one way or another

numbers don't lie dude...36 fumbles 16 lost by RB's this year.....i think coaching or lack of had everything to do with it.....Joel's RB's ...3 fumbles in 2 years. Tim's a great guy...but time to go another direction.

So what were our numbers from other years? I have no problem with Tim being gone, but you can't blame every single fumble on a position coach.

that's partly correct....he was offered a job to stay in a non- field coaching position...even with a raise...he was never offered to fill the final position as TE coach...Fact.

well you can start with google, or better yet the media guide....that should tell you want you need to know. i think Tim is a super guy....i just think this staff has hyper-improved our personnel and it didn't include Tim on the field....

    Smartass.

I figured you had those numbers right in front of you. I think we had three major reasons why we fumbled a ton this season:

    1. DJ has always fumbled a lot
    2. Knile got his first action in over a year; never returned to old form
    3. OL sucked balls allowing our RBs to get clobbered

Tim was offered 235k to take a non-coaching position?
