  • Hawgs fans are going to have to have some patience. The only way from where we are to where we want to be is RECRUIT, RECRUIT & RECRUIT some more. Looking out on the floor today, the physical differences between us & Ole Miss was glaring. We also have far too many one-dimensional players. Several of whom, in my opinion, are not capable of winning at a high level in the SEC. Its not the player's fault. It's not Mike's fault. It's just the reality of the situation. Some players, talented as they may be PHYSICALLY, have either been unwilling or unable to grasp what it takes to be a "team player" and make their teammates better. I think Marshawn has did a great job. Outside of his careless fouls, I think he has come back well from his injury and given all he has. I have not been happy with our backcourt at all. Our guards are very limited and they have not created offensive opportunities for their teammates.
It's going to take time. The bigs are on the way. What I believe is most needed is more length at our 2 & 3 spots as well as a creative PG who understands team basketball and is able and willing to set the table for his teammates. Maybe that is Dee Wagner, I don't know. The development of Qualls, Williams and Bell will obviously help, as well as the addition of Harris & the freshmen. I think a JUCO with offensive talent & attitude is needed to finish out this class. Lastly, if we can keep the great young Arkansas HS talent at home, the "Mountain Top" will be in sight.

  • I think we have several problems and it is going to take time. We just have zero leadership out on the court and we have absolutely zero halfcourt game . It's going to take a couple more recruiting classes and maybe CMA needs to call each player into his office like he did Hunter this week, he really responded well to that. We actually looked better on the road today against a quality team that is the second best team in conference. We should get a win at home against Miss State this week and maybe a good shot at a road win against SC next Saturday . We as fans just have to be patient and realistic.

  • The Hogs are definately a work in progress. This next class will make a big step in the right direction. Mike Anderson knows exactly where he is now, where he is going, and how to get there. The future is bright for Razorback Basketball. Coach A has proven he knows what he is doing. We as fans just have to be a little patient and understand the process.

That has been the battle cry for the last 10 years. Exactly how much patience am i supposed to have ?

Let me know so I will know if I can fit that much in my body !

  • Even with the new class...we still lack scorers/ shooters.....everything mentioned above.....I want to be clear that i am a CMA fan...we are worlds ahead of where we have been the last 6 years or so....but for the Love of...Coach Anderson is not doing himself any favors like he did at the presser by stating that the "lighting" issues at the Tad Pole had a negative effect on his team....
Seriously Coach?? 1. Both teams played under the same conditions 2. if you're a man-killer of a team those things shouldn't even be a distraction And #3. ITS AAAAAALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT. Stop with the excuses please....

  • Patience has been the key word for several years. It should not take 4 or 5 years to build a b ball program IMO. I think if we do not see huge improvement next year It will be time to start looking again.

  • I agree that it should not take 4-5 years. I do know that APR consideration do slow the process now-a-days. Having a couple of more scholarship slots would definitely speed up the process.

Yes it would, but in a way I feel like next year, Mikes 3rd year, we will be without BJ and Powell. If that's the case I'm sure I will read that we are a young team and still need to be patient. Hey, I am not calling for mike's job. I do not do that, well I did call for Willie's, :-), but to me we should see a lot of improvement in year 3 and I am afraid we will not if BJ and Powell leave.

  • When you feel like people/ coaches are perpetual excuses..(Anthony im not saying you're making them) . "young team"..."APR", "His own playas", all you've gotta do is see if individual players have improved over the course of playing under said coach.

  • I think if we look back to Nolan when he realized after playing UNLV. We need some men. We are constantly out muscled!
