What I am basically saying re: Florida recruiting is that this theory of "He got them to Wisconsin so he should be able to get them to Fayetteville easier" is not the slam dunk most would have you believe. Like you said, there are so many variables involved, it's just over simplifying things to buy into that theory.

You could say that about any coach. But...."he" (CP) started pulling in kids from South Florida to a school that previously had very few. Is it because they hadn't previously tried recruiting that area???? I don't have any thing to justify a yes/no on that....just the history of the classes pre/post CP.
CP grew up in the heart of South Florida and that is where the primary number of kids that went to Wisconsin came from. You talk about difficulty in recruiting from there to Fay.,,,,,what about trying to convince a kid who has never seen temps below 45* and grew up in ACC/SEC country to go to an area full of ice/snow/blizzards and is in the B1G.... I suspect that wasn't an easy sell either...

never said Madison was an easy sell, just said that it is not necessarily a harder sell than Fayetteville is because Madison is a much bigger. more metropolitan city than Fayetteville is. Neither place is an easy place to sell to a So Fla kid. Which one is easier ??? The results will tell you that.
Have you ever been to Madison, WI ?? It is a kick azz place. It is nothing like most people think it is. Other than the weather, it is much more attractive to most college students than Fayetteville is
They have 42,000 students man. It is a big school. Most people from big cities will relate to Madison nad UW more than they will Fayetteville.

I think I can kind of.
2012 wisconsin Florida recruits 3 star- Huga Etienne- (Plantation, FL) DB- BCS offers= Wake Forest & West Virginia- not on two deep(just a true freshman)
3 star- Reggie Love- (Boca Raton, FL) WR- BCS offers= Boston College- not on two deep but did play in 4 games this year
2011 wisconsin Florida recruits 3 star- Terrance Floyd- (Boynton Beach, FL) DB- BCS offers= Zero- not on two deep(just a redshirt freshman)
3 star- Devin Gaulden- (Ft Lauderdale, FL) DB- BCS offers= Auburn, Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Texas Tech, & Wake Forest- not on two deep(has played both seasons, he's a true sophomore)
2010 wisconsin Florida recruits 3 star- Peniel Jean- (Wellington, FL) DB- BCS offers= Uconn & Maryland- 2nd string CB as a rs sophomore
2 star- Joe McNamara- (Weston, FL) OL- BCS Offers= Zero- not on 2 deep
3 star- James White-(Ft Lauderdale, FL) RB- BCS offers= Boston College, Clemson, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, & Syracuse- 2nd string RB as a JR had a good year
3 star- Isiah Williams- (Miami, FL) WR- BCS offers= Purdue- not on 2 deep as a rs sophomore
3 star- Jameron Wright- (Fort Pierce, FL) DB- BCS offers= South Florida- not on 2 deep as rs sophomore
2009 wisconsin Florida recruits 4 star- David Gilbert- (Oakland Park, FL) DE- BCS offers= Uconn, Kentucky, Louisville, Purdue, South Carolina, & Vanderbilt- starting DE as a true JR had a pretty good year
3 star- Connor O'Neil- (Ft Lauderdale, FL) LB- BCS offers= Auburn, Clemson, Purdue, & Syracuse- 2nd string as a true JR
2 star- Dezman Southward- (Ft Lauderdale, FL) DB- BCS offers= Uconn Syracuse- starting Safety as a true JR
Those are the past 4 classes I didnt look at this years bc they aren't for sure signees. Only 2 starters and 2 back ups but the others are all pretty young still. Only 3 had SEC offers and only one had multiple SEC offers being James White who is a really good RB. This does however go with what I said earlier to those asking how many programs they passed up to go to Wisconsin.
Only 2 of those Florida kids had zero other offers and both of those kids aren't on the two deep but one is just a rs freshman. 8 of them had 2 or less other BCS offers. 4 of the 12 came from Ft Lauderdale, FL at St Thomas Aquinas.
(Disclaimer I did this as research not to have any one side I did have a hunch of what it would show but these are all facts I got from TOS bc 247 doesn't go back that far. Please don't act like I am trying to slant these facts in any way. I tried to present all the pertinent information I thought mattered. If you have any questions or things you'd like to see added please feel free to comment)

I can tell you this. That type of recruiting won't cut it in the SEC. You may be able to take that type of player and beat some B1G schools, but you ain't beating many in the SEC with those types of players. They better kick it up several notches in Florida if they want to have success.
