He wrote an article last week, "Jason Collins no longer has to live a lie, and that's worth celebrating." He links it in the article I'm attaching; he basically said Collins was brave, courageous, and honest. This was probably Doyel's first positive article ever written. Props to him.
However... Doyel received a ton of hate mail from the bible thumpers. Here ya go:
Gregg Doyel's column commending Jason Collins for coming out leads to a deluge of reader emails. Doyel answers his critics, and Collins', in his mailbag column.

I really don't see how this is even a story. The guy is gay and came out. Big deal. He's not the first person to come out or the last. He just plays in the NBA so the media went nuts.
Wow, pretty childish article. So Doyel writes an original article on Collins to elicit a response on a sensitive subject, when he knew the exact response he would get (from so called bigots), and then responds with another article just to reciprocate the bashing? I guess that's where journalism is folks and it's here to stay.

He trolls pretty hard with every article he writes.
Professional sports: macho tough man
Homosexuality: soft, sissy boys
Collins is a brave dude; you can hate him if you want. He did a good thing, a ballsy thing. Props.
I don't hate him. I just don't see how that makes him any more brave than someone else coming out. They still have bosses and colleagues who would look at them different just like him. And its the NBA. Not a tough man sport.
Dude. He plays in the NBA. He's in front of millions of people, and he had the balls to come out and be honest. Congrats to him. He's on a bigger stage, and the ones who criticize him are bigots.
