Piecing this together from what Steve Gorten of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel tweeted out:
“Ms. McDonald understands that Alex has received consent from his father who has signed the letter-of-intent for him to play football for the University of Arkansas. However, our client's initial intentions remain unchanged. She is a loving and caring mother who only wants her son to choose a university without any outside and inappropriate influences. Ms. McDonald hopes all NCAA rules and regulations were followed during today’s signing. She is not seeking any personal financial gain because her only concern is for Alex's happiness and well being. The Cochran Firm is standing by Ms. McDonald in this difficult time and has made all of the firm's resources available to her as she explores her options."

This is not going away evidently. Just getting ugly to say the least. I am sure our staff has followed all the rules but for her to say that when her son has signed is really a hurtful deal.
I just can't even believe this one. Is she going after his HS Coach?
It will be interesting to find out who is taking care of the attny fees....
This has smell all over it...
Peace, Love, Toes in the Sand....
Come on this lady needs to stop. It is a shame people will never surprise me.
She is clearly looking out for herself and obviously does not care about her son. She's trying to pull out all the stops to get that check even if she hurts her own child.

Seriously? He's 18 years old. Legal adult who can make his own decisions. No one held a gun to his head to make him go any where.
It's sad if this was truly about Alex's happiness she wouldn't continue to put him through this.
All she's going to do if she continues down this road is push Alex away as well as possibly creating a lot of resentment towards her. She will loose out on a nice sum of $ for lawyers on this.
Yesterday's recorded events will not help her case either.

He appeared extremely happy today.........
I'm only responsible for what I SAY, not for what YOU UNDERSTAND.
somebody needs to tell the lady.....the NCAA is what is wrong with the U of Miami. She should be glad her son is not about to be punished for the sins of others (by attending the U)
Thats probably because he was sitting next to dad and not mom. Sounds like she and her ex arent real fond of each other and he ends up in the middle.
Irish Oak in Chicago
Yeah but what has Gatewood's track record been with all the players he has coached and what he has done there?
It just amazes me so quickly people can turn on someone, that is why Kirkland is leaving nobody seems to understand that and everyone is like WHAT HE IS LEAVING WHY???
Rocket science it is not.
