I mean seriously offering Les Miles? This tells me that the person in charge has lost his mind.
seriously? because he goes after a coach who won a NC and the sugar bowl?
Good grief, how in the world do you know what you said or even all you are hearing is true?
Didn't believe it until Robert said we probably did talk with him about being the coach here.

JL and Miles have a previous history, and Miles has been very successful at LSU so its a logical concept to hear what a winning SEC coach finds to be most important when trying to find someone who the UofA thinks would make a good fit in the SEC.
Just because there was a "discussion"about the opening doesn't mean that they were eyeing him has as serious option.

You are correct. We have a Dudley Doo-rite as an AD. He got a lot of praise when he ran BP off from the Bible beaters and it went straight to his head. He's an idiot, and he's probably going to make a terrible hire.
Yeah, Jeff Long is such an idiot that he tries to hire bad coaches on purpose, tries to make his school's fan base hate him, and tries to lose job security.
I mean, come on guys. Long made a controversial decision to fire BP and took a chance on JLS. However, that doesn't mean he is an inept, deadbeat, retard up there in a high-powered position, that is trying to make a hire. He is a smart man (you don't get where he is by dumb-luck) and will make a hire that has been carefully selected. Also if he is as self centered as y'all are claiming then he will want to make the biggest hire he can so his stature grows even greater.
However for all we know, the talks with Les/Les' agent were as informal as something like, "So you maybe interested if we gave you a 5 year $27 Mil contract? Well, let me go see what the BOT and the foundation would think of this and then let me examine the rest of the candidates. Then we will get back to you and go from there"
Even if we would of got Miles, it wouldn't of been THAT bad. All I have read this entire coaching search is about how we need a proven winning head coach, one that can get it done in the SEC. Well Miles has, and you can say what you want to about how he did it, but the fact is that he still did it. Also he has whipped our ass the last two years as well.
JL is playing out this coaching search in way that none of us know about for sure. We have only been able to get slight pieces of information about this whole search. Do you think Jeff has made a true formal offer to anyone yet? Do we for sure know who's agent he has and hasn't contacted? All we know for sure is that JL has a certain criteria he is looking for and that his time frame for making his hire is coming very soon. We hear all these names based on hear-say. Nothing is leaking out of JL's camp. We keep trying to solve a 500 piece puzzle with 250 pieces.
“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Gene Chizik won a NC and i bet you dont want him
That would be totally different. Miles has never gone winless in the SEC and has a 85-20 record in his time at LSU with five 10 win seasons. Much longer and better track record than Chizk.
I am not a Les Miles fan by any means, and would not want him to be our HC, because he is an ass that likes to call us Ar-Kansas and makes very questionable in game decisions, but you can not discredit his accomplishments.
