I wonder what Allen runs? I suspect he's a legit 4.6. I know that Mitchel can throw the long ball as good as about anyone I have seen. He has a strong arm I am just not sure he could out run Allen? Maybe he can but Allen is quicker and faster than give credit for. He can run and hurt the defense for sure. No way he's 4.7 and a legit 4.6 is dang fast. I think Felix Jones best time at the combine was a 4.53?

I think one of the Allens may end up transfering.
Home is where the heart is. This is a map of mine.
After really knowing who the QB would be for the last 4 seasons going into each spring, this will be an interesting 6 months! If Brandon Allen doesn't establish himself as the starter, the battle could be quite intense. Lot's of talent !! Plus, what is the mix of Chaney and CBB going to put on the field. Why isn't it August yet???
My favorite of them all is Duwop but that's just who I like.
As someone else said I could see Austin and Duwop red shirting to get them experience learning the system while the others compete and take the reigns this year.
Not sure though, they got Duwop to switch schools to come to the Hogs for a reason... that is how I see it. Chaney's comment on running QB's I think really is meant for the ones who are run first pass 2nd, Duwop seems to be a honest dual threat able to do either.
I think any of the QB's on the roster can win the job. I do think Brandon Mitchell will be favored to win the job. I think Coach B is really just looking for a "athletic" QB. Someone who is a very good passer and knows when to give up on a play and make a play with his feet.
Duwop said in a interview after signing day that he was told by Chaney that a package similar to what RG3 ran would be implemented into his scheme to make use of talented dual threat QBs. So if that's the case I think for sure that this will be B. Mitchell's job to loose.
Anyone think the world took notice when Texas A&M beat Bama with a dual threat QB?

Well dual threat QB is not a fad any more, it used to be because it was hard to find athletes who could do both and do it well... now that is changing.
You just have to end up with the physical skills to do it PLUS have a good football brain to analyze things quickly and adjust like a typical pocket passer would do.
Mitchell and Duwop can do that, though I think Duwop is stronger as a passer BUT he is obviously young and hasn't played a down in college yet or practice...so.... who knows!!
I am pumped about Duwop. Unlimited potential and IMO it has become necessary for a QB to be able to hurt defenses with their running. Not just to avoid a sack but first downs and long runs. It's almost required to beat defenses.
bump to show the winners and the losers
