Just wondering why you guys don't play each other? I think it would be really interesting...two High-Octane Offenses and all.
Considering ASU could possibly be ranked at the end of the year while Jeff Long is interviewing Buddy Ryan (what's left of him) and Jack Crowe (he's available), I'm afriad this game would hurt Arkansas St recruiting and they would have nothing to win by this game.
If I were Jeff Long, I would've offered the CASH to James Franklin instead of Les Miles...that dude is dumber than a Lincoln Log.
Because it is none of your business and becasue we don't want to and because I don't consider us as a high anything offense anymore
Jeez take a chill pill dude, just an observation and I'm pretty sure you don't speak for the whole Razorback Nation. Hey y'all had a bad year__it happens. With a NFL type QB and receivers, plus good RB's, how could you call it anything but high octane?

We don't play ASU for the same reason why Ole Miss refuses to play Southern Miss.
We don't play Southern Miss anymore bcs it's a no win situation to have two In-State rivals...I divides resources too much. To my knowledge you guys don't play any other teams from Arkansas.
Btw, not a Trollololol.
We just played Arizona State in Badketball, what more do you want??
I'm only responsible for what I SAY, not for what YOU UNDERSTAND.
Don't really understand your response???
The topic is: In-State Football Rivalries.
Because theres nothing in it for the UofA.
A) The state is too small to support any kind of instate rivalry. B) A lot of ASU fans are actually also Rzrbck fans.

They're in the Sun Belt. It's a no-win situation for us to play them. We don't give a damn about them. Why should we?
If we kick their butts it's because we were supposed to.
I don't have the topics broken down, as I am using my phone. There's nothing listed anywhere in the heading or body about instate rivalry.
But since I must truly spell it out for you, it was a jab at Arkansas State (implying that I am not aware they exist).
I would not be opposed to it. I think it would be fun as hell and could be good overall for the state. It could get people everywhere more into football, and there are a few more good things it could lead to.
However I can understand why we wouldn't want to do it. It could be bad for us, and make a state that already produces little D-1 talent, even harder for us to recruit.

I disagree, Mississippi and Arkansas' population is virtually the same and we support 3 major Universities.
Until Dan Mullen arrived at MSU many ppl were Ole Miss And MSU fans (myself included). If MSU were playing someone other Ole Miss, I was rooting for them.
All I'm saying is now that ASU has a good program again, and they have A former Razorback coach, plus, I think ppl would now pay to see it... on both sides.I think it makes for an interesting match-up.
NCAA rules prohibit us from playing junior colleges
A) Mississippi produces more division one talent than Ar.
B) OM and MSU are in the same conference. AR state is a sun belt team.
C) Majoirity of ASUs following is in the east corner of the state and are pretty much irrelevant outside of Jonesborro.
There's not enough $$physical$$ benefit for the UofA to play ASU. #2 Because AR produces such a low level of D1 eligible recruits every year the last thing the UofA wants to do is give ASU any kind of opportunity to challenge for them.
The UofA enjoys the uniqueness of being biggest following of the entire state and ASU has always been pretty much irrelevant to the majority of the state regardless of their success.
A) Yes, Mississippi does produce more Div.1 talent than Ark., but for that matter, we produce more per capita than anyone. Why is that? I don't know...maybe its bcs everybody plays everybody (except for the private schools). Diet maybe? Who knows.
B) Of course being in the same conference (and same Division) it's required that we play each other. I still see no correlation between the SEC and the Sun Belt that would suggest they should Not play each other?
C) I agree with you in terms of relevancy. However, if ASU were elevated a bit it enhances U of A. Imagine a scenario where U of A is overlooked in a BCS match-up due to a weak OoC schedule, and had they simply played ASU, they would enjoy the extra $millions$ the BCS game garners.
Think about it, your gonna win 95% of the games anyway, but it helps both programs.
Why would you not want to help both programs. I was in Jonesboro yesterday, it's a very nice town and the ppl are proud of their University! And why shouldn't they be?
