    I think they can get by without a high school CB in this class. As for RB, they're shooting for two, and I figure that's what they'll end up with. But if they get Alex Collins and call it a day ... they're not going to sign a guy at that position unless he's an absolute stud, IMO.

    Well, we certainly are having some studs looking our way. What excites me about Alex Collins is that he really isn't a very polished player. You watch his highlight reel and you see that he is still learning the position. But his athleticism is just jaw dropping. I can't get over how he can accelerate.

    Has Newby set a date for an official? I like him a lot, but can't see anywhere that he has a visit scheduled.

    Also, what do you know about the rumors that Derrick Green might be interested in an official? I thought he was a Michigan lock, but he certainly is someone I think you'd love to take a shot at.

    Mike Farrell tweeted about it this morning. That's where the rumor comes from.

  • Richard Davenport just posted on Hogville that Derrick twittered him on Christmas Eve that he was interested in Arkansas, but didn't want it known yet. Along with the good souls at 247 (seriously - it is the reason this is the only site I subscribe to - well I subscribe to ESPN, but their coverage of the Razorbacks is a joke - only good side to ESPN is the player evaluations), Richard is the person on Arkansas recruiting I most trust, so I think the Derrick Green rumor isn't a rumor.

    But I will be really crushed if we neither Derrick, Altee, Alex, Newby, nor Jordan commit to Arkansas. This is easily the best group of running backs to be interested in Arkansas at least since Darren, Felix, and Michael Smith.

  • I should add that I really don't think Derrick Green is going anywhere except Michigan. I think the coaching changes here coupled with his very early interest in Arkansas may have made him want to explore further what was going on, but he seems so close to committing to Michigan that I think this may be too little, too late. But if he decides to take an official, all bets are off.

Just a side note, although not a scientific process at all, Drew Morgan, WR from Greenwood is listed as a 3-star prospect by Rivals...not sure where you got the 2-star . Thanks for the clarity,

    Thanks! On Drew's star rating, we use 247Sports rankings, which still has him a two-star. I need to send in 2012 video and see if we can get him re-rated. He's a heck of a player.
