Jon Gruden's name is associated with every opening in football and now is being mentioned with Arkansas again.

Various reports have indicated Jon Gruden has no interest in the Arkansas job, but despite those reports a source very close to Arkansas on Friday said that simply isn't true.

And for all the no way this is true go ahead I heard the same thing when I reported Bobby Petrino was in play and while no one is saying he will take the job even if offered he would listen despite what anyone else says otherwise.

If the BOT forces JL to hire BD without at least trying here they all need to go!!

GREAT NEWS! If Long doesn't contact "Chucky" within the next week, the he is the worst AD to ever work at the UA and is an embarrassment to his profession. I mean you talk about knocking it out of the park. If BP was a 400 ft. Walk-Off Grandslam, then Gruden is a 550 ft. Walk-Off Grandslam in the 7th games of the World Series no less. Don't want to get my hopes up too high, because Long should have contacted him yesterday already. Offer him a 5-year 30M contract full of incentives and bonuses. I mean make it as luicrative as you can along with a good buyout for both parties. Thanks OK!

Good Point! But at the same time, I can't read this Long fella. Just hope we can somehow win some games and be competitive in the ones we lose for the remander of the season. This will hopefully get the BOT's to cool their piss a little and Long can indeed behind closed doors contact Gruden and some others.

Yeah, I don't buy that PDC. This isn't a statement that was released by Long or Gruden's camp. This is from a source with inside info. He had the info that Gruden would be interested, but says that call hasn't been made.
Doesn't make sense, so I ask. Why has Jeff Long not contacted Gruden? I think it's a valid question. I'd just like to know if there is a legit reason why it hasn't already occurred.

Who would be surprised that he would listen to an offer? Virtually anyone would, if for no other reason than to get a gauge of the marketplace for their services. That's more of an indication that someone enjoys having their ego stroked than genuine interest in the job. Obviously no stone should go unturned, but it seems really thin given the opportunities that he has turned down in the past when he didn't have a cush MNF chair.
Whomever reported that he would NEVER listen to an offer are the ones that floor me in this scenario....what does it ever hurt to listen?
