Thx OK! That REALLY REALLY sucks that Patterson and Peterson said they have no interest in our job. Hopefully Long can change their mind. Only other Grandslam hires out there wud be Carroll or Gruden. What are u hearing about possible candidates? Thx AGAIN :)

Petrino while he was and is a great coach he has got to have the lowest moral character of any human I've met. He let these young men down by lying and being absolutely corrupt as a father, husband, role model, and professional. He would've beat ULM and certainly would've made a game with Alabama. he would have not been worth a damn at raising our young men into becoming respectable men though. So while I agree we need a coach; guys please don't keep screaming for bobby to come back. Life is about winning and losing but most importantly it's about being a man and a man doesn't screw his family, friends, co-workers, players, and boosters repeatedly. A MAN darn sure doesn't LIE I rather have a man that teaches my son to have fortitude in all aspects of life not just on the football field! So forget Petrino and his lies lets go get us a coach Mr. Long! Get us someone that will be proud of his actions and team Not only when every one is looking but also most importantly when no one is!!!! I respect Jeff Long for his decision and any one that is at least a hair moral and cares about out young people should quit saying I wish bobby wasn't fired! Thanks!

There is a subtext here that may go unnoticed. It would be absurd for Jeff Long to imply that we are going to make just anyone the highest paid coach in college football. What he obviously is saying is that if there is a top tier coach who is available - such as a Jon Gruden or Pete Carroll - then money will not be an obstacle. I don't know if either will be available, or if either is whether they would be interested in coaching at Arkansas. But if they are, they will get the appropriate paycheck.
I loved BP as an offensive football mind, but he had built in limitations that probably would have kept us from being the permanent Top Ten team Long envisions, mainly his character, which many parents of potential recruits found lacking. I think Long is going to try for a homerun, if a homerun is a possibility.
