McClure commits to Arkansas

Johnathan McClure

Johnathan McClure loved everything about his official visit to Arkansas.

Butler County (Kan.) Community College offensive guard Johnathan McClure has committed to Arkansas.

McClure, 6-4, 320, officially visited Arkansas this past weekend and then made his t bydecision tonight. McClure had thought about committing while on his visit, but wanted to wait and talk to his mother before making it official. His father, John McClure, confirmed the verbal pledge Thursday night.

“I think the visit this past weekend just sealed the deal,” John McClure said. “He loved everything about it from the coaches to the facilities. I think everything just fell into place for him last weekend. He didn't even mind the rain, he liked the rain.”

Johnathan McClure is a second-team All-American with the National Junior College Athletic Association. He started his career at Kansas State as a preferred walk-on, but opted to go to Butler.

“His coach keeps all his recruiting pretty private, but I know he had four Big 12 schools on him, some other SEC schools and others around the country too,” McClure said. “He just really liked Arkansas though and everything about it.”

Bobby Allen is the lead recruiter on McClure. McClure is a midterm recruit and will be eligible to sign with the Razorbacks in December and enroll in January.

McClure is rated a 2-star recruit by 247Sports. McClure and Butler County will be at home on Saturday to take on Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College.
