    • good job on story Robert. My only problem with this entire deal is for some reason they seem to hold Darius to a different standard than they do certain others. Probably won't be a popular post but that's OK. I try to post my opinion whether it is popular or not doesn't worry me too much. Once again, good job on the story and way to tackle a key issue on the team. They have to get that secondary ready to go.

Thanks, and yeah, they have had a quick trigger with him in the past. But Paul Haynes and John L. can't control what Willy and BP did previously. They have to do what they feel is the right thing now. There's definitely a balancing act, though, because you don't want Darius to get discouraged and give up. I don't think he will. Time will tell if I'm right.

I am not in the know near as much as you guys but when you get beat in coverage as a CB on long balls, it is really easy to see. Easier to see than say a LB on a 10 yd crossing pattern. I do not know if they have a quicker trigger or are just tired of repetitive mistakes. What I have seen of him is that he is usually in decent position to make a play but just won't/can't seem to play the ball. Recievers are taught not to put up there hands until the last minute and he seems to have a problem with the technique of staying on the man and keeping his head on a swivel to play the ball. I never played corner and I think it is probably one of the toughest positions to play on D. Obvioulsy I would love to see him succeed. Since you guys watch him in practice is what I said correct or is he also out of position a lot as well?

He is out of position some but so is Tevin Mitchel and most others in that secondary. Kelleybrew was out of position as well on some balls. It's the decision of the UA coaches and I very seldom am critical of their decisions, and not being critical here, just stating what I have seem from my standpoint.

I agree. My only justification for it is exactly what RT was talking about. Everyone knew one of Darius' main short comings entering 2012 was not looking back and finding the ball. I'm sure the staff spent all Spring and Fall working with him on it. Then, the first time he's really tested, he doesn't look back, and get's beat. Maybe this really was just to send him a message that they're serious. Or, maybe they're just tired of "beating a dead horse" with him. We'll see how much playing time he gets this week, and how well he reacts when he gets out there.

      Thanks RT. Good write-up.

Eric Bennett is a Junior, I believe.

    • Winston always seems to be in good position! He just never gets his head turned around! I believe you can face guard in college. If nothing else he should at least throw his hands up, if he can't get his head turned. Interceptions are nice, but I'll take a pass break up all day long!

You can only bench him if there's someone else that can do the job better. With DW they know they'll get a certain level of performance and while they hope he can do better....he does have a certain amount of experience. I am very concerned at the thought of putting a walk-on in that position!

A 5-star Sr. recruit possibly being replaced by a walk-on.....Recruiting rankings still rock!!!!clap

    • He is held to a higher standard and more is expected of him because he has greater potential than those around him. That's a good thing and a compliment to him. Every day I thank god for giving me the chance to play football. It prepared me for life in countless ways. I hope these young men realize how lucky they are to have someone coach them on how to obtain great things.

    • I have no problem with him getting bench if he gave up 4 or 5 catches on that drive but after one catch & all that hard work he put in during the summer I don't agree with it not because he's my nephew but for any kid to get pulled for giving up 1catch it's just not rite playing corner you have to get into a groove get into the game if kellybrew gets pull for giving up 1 catch it wouldn't be fair to him either just not rite!!

I agree completely buck. I think they hold him to a higher standard but maybe they shouldn't. DW has at least 11 more games to prove he is who you, me, and some others think he is.

    • I guess opinions are like you know whats..I see it the other way and think they have babied him way too long. Time to move on or go in a different direction..IMO!

      Great read Robert.

I agree, they have babied him some but I know he has the ability to be big time. I'm still pulling for him and that will never change.

    • Semantics but didn't DW get pulled and not benched? Maybe some are making this a bigger deal than it should be!
