247Sports pushed through a major update to its network Monday morning and unveiled an additional system for ranking recruits – the 247Composite.
Pulaski Academy's Hunter Henry is ranked the No. 3 tight end in the nation using the new 247Composite.
The 247Composite uses rankings from major media recruiting sites and runs them through a complex algorithm using a Gaussian distribution formula to create the most comprehensive ranking on the Internet. The system helps to eliminate individual biases in the ranking process by forming an “average” ranking based on numerical data.
The new system allows thousands of prospects to be ranked, which puts 247Sports far ahead of any other network covering recruiting.
With that in mind, Hawgs247 takes a look at how the Arkansas Razorbacks’ Class of 2013 looks nationally.
The Razorbacks rank 60th in the nation and 13th in the SEC in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings, which now use the 247Composite to rank classes. However, it should be pointed out that with 10 commitments, Arkansas has the fewest in the conference – two fewer than Kentucky, which ranks 14th in the SEC.
Seven of the Razorbacks’ 10 commitments rank in the Top 50 nationally at their positions in the 247Composite. Tight end Hunter Henry is at the top among those Hog recruits, ranking as the No. 79 player in the nation and the No. 3 tight end in the country, according to the 247Composite.
Below you can see where each of the Arkansas commits rank in the 247Composite, with their position ranking in parentheses.
