Joshua Liddell committed to Hogs while on visit.
Arkansas offered Dollarway 3-star safety Joshua Liddell Thursday morning, Jan. 16, and got a commitment from him today.
Liddell chose the Razorbacks over offers from Boise State, Arkansas State and others. Liddell grew up an Arkansas fan and though he was committed to Arkansas State the offer to the Razorbacks is what he had been waiting on.
"The main reason is the head coach, Coach Bret Bielema," Liddell said. "He's a great coach. He's very smart and all these other coaches as well. The coaching staff is very close, a family-like atmosphere.
"It's the chance in my home state of Arkansas. That would be good too."
Liddell played both ways for Dollarway this season. At quarterback, he rushed 112 times for 1,278 yards and 21 touchdowns while completing 44-of-58 passes for 1,257 yards and 15 touchdowns in the air. On defense, Liddell had 45 tackles, three interceptions and five pass breakups. As a sophomore he had 12 interceptions at safety. He will start out at safety at Arkansas.
"I have good size, speed and instincts back there at safety," Liddell said.
Liddell has a grade of 89 with the 247Sports, No. 38 safety and No. 3 recruit in Arkansas. Liddell is the No. 20 commitment for Arkansas. Liddell was visited by Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and Barry Lunney Jr. on Thursday morning.
