Shreveport (La.) Evangel 3-star wide receiver Jared Cornelius has flipped his commitment from TCU to Arkansas.
Jared Cornelius catches a touchdown pass for Evangel, but next year he will be playing for the Razorbacks.
Cornelius committed to Arkansas prior to the season, but then committed to TCU last Friday. However, it was after talking to quarterback Rafe Peavey, defensive back Santos Ramirez and Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema that he opted to switch back to the Razorbacks.
"I talked to Coach Bielema last night," Cornelius said. "I had some concerns with the offense about how much they would pass the football. He said basically with me and Rafe down there we would throw the ball around.
"I talked to Rafe last night. He really pulled me back in. We have a good relationship. Rafe had a lot to do with my decision. Santos talked to me when he got back too."
Cornelius signed his Financial Aid Agreement today as well. He said he feels much better about the direction of the offense after talking to Bielema.
"I think we will turn it around big this year," Cornelius said.
Bielema is obviously pleased to have Cornelius back in the fold and set to enroll in January.
"Jared has developed a winning attitude through his family and program he excelled in at Evangel Christian," Bielema said. "We are excited to get him in our Razorback family and watch his dreams become a reality."
Cornelius had 71 catches for 1,189 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. He chose the Razorbacks over TCU, Missouri, Tennessee and others. He has a grade of 84 with the 247Composite, is the No. 944 recruit in nation, No. 122 wide receiver and No. 43 player in Louisiana.
